. >>> impossible. that's what prosecutors call the explanation given by jodi arias in her 18 days worth of testimony. she is the arizona woman charged with first-degree murder in the death of her boyfriend. the trial resumed for a short time this afternoon. it is now in recess again, we understand, after the prosecutor objected to a potential witness for the defense. nbc's stephanie stanton has the very latest. she's been following the trial. what else happened in the courtroom today? >> reporter: court resumed this morning for a very short time indeed. and the prosecutor juan martinez got right in there. he said he needed more time to review evidence that he was presented with just this morning. that evidence would be testimony that is expected to be given by dr. richard samuels, he is a psychologist. he is expected to testify that jodi arias suffers from, suffered from ptsd immediately following the killings and also, a disassociate which would help explain the memory gaps that she suffered at the time of the murders and then the weeks and days following. so at this point, judge steph
is the trial of jodi arias. we are joined by jamie. and tell us about the stubenville case, and the text messages and how prominent that is in the legal case? >> well, in this case, it is key, and there is no evidence that has been recovered or saved, physical evidence of rape. in most rape cases you have what is known as the rape kit, and evidence that the young woman was assaulted and then you have to prove that there was a forceable assault, but here, quite a bit of time went by before any sexual assault was reported at all. and all we have as ron reported is tens of thousands of text messages that went on about the assault. it is horrific what some of the young men said aboon the videots that went viral, but is that evidence of assault, and it is unpr unprecedented case where you are going to try these young men, and the accuser is going to bring this case based exclusively on text messages. it is quite something and that is why it is garnering national attention and the emotion involved and all of the witnesses that ron talks about virtually all of them with the exception of the pol
trials in years, jurors will spend a second day questions jodi arias. the case has all the shocking and salacious makings of a made-for-tv movie, the seven women and 11 men on the jury getting a chance to ask questions. katy tur is live in phoenix. what have they been talking about? >> reporter: there's only three states that do this. arizona is one of them. yesterday they ask jodi arias pretty pointed questions, including how devout she was for her mormonism. she said she converted for travis anderson. she asked why she had so much memory loss the night she killed, why she remembers certain details, why she never photographed any of the bruises after she claims he beat her. she was an avid frafr, but never took photos of that. most interesting is the intimate details. why would she continue sleeping with a man and being intimate with a man that she claims had fantasies about little boys? >> does there seem to be any -- >> he was able to sleep with a woman, as opposed to fantasizing about a child, he felt look more normal as a man. so also i had seen prior to this incident many beau

about woman in arizona has not been governor jan brewer but a woman by the name of jodi arias. standing trial for allegedly murdering her boyfriend. you'd be forgiven if you've been tempted to switch over and watch the nonstop coverage with its potent mix of sex and violence too lurid for children but apparently perfect for some consenting adults. now, having covered several scandalous trials and interviewed several criminal minds myself, let me say this. the trial of jodi arias certainly has all the elements for a compelling courtroom drama. a boyfriend found stabbed, slashed, shot, and then stuffed into a shower. a murder suspect with the look of a librarian but the alleged behavior of a nymphomaniac. with that brief synonym sis and with closing arguments nearby, let's go to our correspondent katie tur. i know the judge completed asking questions of miss arias as provided by the jury. what can you tell us about today's proceedings? >> reporter: today was much like yesterday. she's been on the stand for 17 days and the past two days she's faced questions from the jury. over 150 questio
